Description: Dan-Y-Graig is a house in Mynyddygarreg close to Kidwelly, Which is between the larger towns of Llanelli and Carmarthen. Dan-Y-Graig is set back from the road and provides spacious accommodation for 8 young adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Learning Disabilities and Challenging Behaviours Between the ages of 18-64. Each service user has their own spacious bedroom with En-suite bathroom facilities. Shared rooms are comprised of a large lounge, DVD room, Activity room, dining room and kitchen. There is also an additional bathroom with bath facilities.
Service users benefit from activities designed for the individuals needs/interests, we are flexible and as far as possible guided by the service users preference. Service users have access to our Day Service where they can enjoy a range of activities which vary from Art &craft, Wood work, Computers, Gardening, Hike club and Touch sessions, Also we support service users to maintain a good and happy social life; this includes family contact, Pub visits, Cinema, Bowling, Holidays abroad and locally or just relaxing in the grounds.
The manager Rhyannon Evans has worked within the field of learning disabilities and behaviour that challenge since 2003 and has developed from Support worker – General Manager within the company. We seek to appoint the most suitable staff group possible, with a variety of skills and personalities, qualifications and experiences, who share the organisations values and philosophies of providing high quality care. Staff are only appointed following the rigours recruitment procedures. We ensure that adequate numbers of staff are on duty 24 hours a day to meet the assessed needs of each individual service user.
