Our recently opened Dementia Care Home sits in the attractive market town of Fordingbridge, easily accessible from Ringwood, Bournemouth, Salisbury, Southampton and surrounding areas.
Designed in conjunction with Sterling University (acknowledged experts in dementia care), it embraces the very latest thinking in terms of nursing care, environment, aesthetics, comfort, security and stimulation.
Amenities
Built over 3 independent floors, the home has 5 lounges 3 dining rooms, a modern fully equipped kitchen and 2 kitchenettes. Plus a hairdressing, chiropody and manicure salon, balcony, family room and 4 assisted bathrooms.
Outside a beautifully landscaped secure garden, features walkways, seating areas, well, water feature, boules court and raised planting areas for those with green fingers.
Activities
An ongoing programme of varied in-house daily activities helps keep Residents minds active and builds rapport between Residents and their Carers and Families.
Plus a specially equipped, wheelchair friendly vehicle, takes residents on trips to the local town, around the forest or to a nearby pub.
Memory Areas
Themed reminiscence areas have been created throughout the three floors of the home.
They represent notable events or treasured moments from the residents younger days to stimulate awareness and conversation between Residents, Carers and Relatives.
Located within and at the ends of corridors they offer constant stimulus and destination points to the Residents when moving around the home.
Personnel
Fordingbridge ensures its Staff are trained to the highest levels of Nursing Care, with particular emphasis on Mental Health training.
Continuous appraisal and development ensures our residents are cared for by a skilled, knowledgeable and up‑to‑date workforce.
