Summerhayes Residential Home
At Summerhayes Residential Home our aim is to provide a warm, comfortable and safe home for those who have chosen to come into residential care. We strive to support and assist our residents to maintain their independence to enable them to live their lives in the way they wish, by assisting them with the day-to-day tasks that they now find challenging or impossible to do. We respect our residents’ need for privacy and dignity and their right to make choices and decisions about how and where they spend their time. Help and advice is always at hand should it be required.
Summerhayes Residential Home is a privately owned residential home situated in Bearcross, Bournemouth. It has been under the same ownership since 1987.
We provide 24 hour continuous care for permanent residency and respite care for short or long periods. Most of our staff have been with us for many years.
We strive to maintain a homely atmosphere at Summerhayes. For example, we are happy to accommodate residents’ own furniture and pictures in their rooms if they wish to make it feel more like home.
Summerhayes is situated on the Wimborne Road close to the bus routes and amenities in the Kinson area. The garden sweeps around the building, with a car park for visitors at the front.
In the summer, garden tables, chairs and parasols are available for our residents to entertain their visitors and have afternoon tea. This is something we actively encourage.
Summerhayes is registered for twenty one elderly residents and is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
We also have contracts with our local social service authorities.
