Thornbury Residential Home is registered with East Sussex County Council to care for 19 residents.

Thornbury is situated within walking distance of Uckfield high street and yet is in a quiet neighbourhood. Nearby are shops, churches, post office, banks, library and a leisure center.

Thornbury Residential Home has been adapted and extended to meet the needs of residents requiring long and short term care. We always aim to provide care to the highest quality, ensuring the dignity, independence and comfort of our residents in a homely and friendly atmosphere.

Thornbury enjoys an excellent local reputation and (with prior arrangement) we would be more than happy to show interested parties around the Home and to answer questions in relation to placements.

A pre-admission assessment is always carried out prior to admission to Thornbury Residential Home.

Thornbury is committed to providing the highest standard of care to meet the individual needs of its residents in a safe, caring and homely environment.

The staff are trained to provide good personal care to each resident observing individual rights of privacy and preserving dignity at all times.

Facilities are offered for mental stimulation in accordance with each residents’ ability. Dee Johnson, Matron/Manager, aims to maintain good standard of communication with all relatives, health professionals, spiritual and social personnel so that we work together to the ultimate benefit of the residents of Thornbury.

The care of the staff of Thornbury is of vital importance and therefore we try to make sure each member of staff feels valued in his/her work. As a continuation of this, training and personal development of the staff is one of our highest priorities giving them a sense of worth and achievement. All staff are encouraged to reach their full potential and this includes their training to NVQ level 2 and above.
