Elizabeth Court Rest Home is registered to accommodate 24 older people.

Our Services

People come to residential care for a variety of reasons. We recognize that our residents, while having much in common, are all individuals. We believe in offering services that do justice to the identity, dignity and circumstances of each resident we care for.

We do this in a number of ways:

Elizabeth Court Rest Home is a 16th century building modernised to meet the requirements of our residents. We are registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) to provide care for up to 24 older people. (visit our gallery to see more of this)

Our registered manager is a qualified nurse, and she is supported by a Head of Care; as co-owners of the home they ensure the quality of the environment as well as the services the home provides. Our commitment to the home has been demonstrated by the recent appointment of a Quality Assurance manager with a background in Inspection and Occupational Therapy

Our plan of care is based on a through and detailed assessment of needs, using the skills and experience of our management team. Such needs might be for a special diet, piece of equipment, opportunity for craft work, visits for religious purposes or reading material.

We believe that our staff are our greatest asset and we invest heavily in their learning to ensure that they have the skills to meet residents’ assessed needs.

We employ a variety of staff to ensure that we have the mix of skills and experience required at all times to meet residents’ assessed needs.

By these two means we have established a strong core team of care staff and ancillary staff, who provide the day to day continuity so vital to the wellbeing of our residents. (Indeed our cook has been working here for 26 years, so we must be doing something right!) (“…I’m proud to work here, and I feel very secure in the support from the management. In addition to prioritising individual needs we also recognize the needs of our community of older people and staff for social and leisure activities. We provide opportunities for shared experiences, such as Burns Night, (“… very good and very original…loved the haggis!…” Mr F, resident), Bonfire night and many other seasonal occasions and celebrations. And of course, visitors are welcome, and we stay in touch with them through our regular newsletter, which keeps everyone up to date with the life of the home. (And is hopefully humorous too! visit our newsletters here..)

Our message to our residents is clear: We seek to make you feel at home in our community, valuing you as an individual, respecting your wishes, and providing well trained staff to meet your needs. And that includes your need for fun….!
