All room sizes comfortably exceed the national minimum requirements and provide for individual space and comfort. Most bedrooms are single occupancy and double rooms are available for those who prefer not to be alone.
Each bedroom is equipped with modern safety features including an emergency nurse-call point, thermostatically controlled radiator, thermometer, smoke detector, window restrictor, electrical sockets and television point. Televisions are available on request.
Every Resident is encouraged to bring personal items and furniture with them to make their room as personal as possible, not only for comfort but also for orientation.
Temperatures in the home are monitored regularly and as a safety precaution, all radiators are covered. Water temperatures are also closely monitored and kept at a safe level.
Shower rooms, bathrooms and toilets are located on all floors.
At all levels within Gorsey Clough Nursing Home, there is a total commitment to quality of care for the individual. Our highly trained RGN and RMN nursing teams and Care Assistants work under the supervision of the dedicated Home Manager, Caroline McCafferty RMN. All staff undergo strict internal audits of the services they provide and the standards set by the CQC (the Care Quality Commission) are not only met but surpassed.
Our loyal team of Nurses and trained Care Assistants provide 24-hour care and support for each Resident according to that Resident’s individual Care Plan, which is regularly monitored and updated.
All residents have access to their own or a retained GP, as well as a visiting Physiotherapist, Chiropodist or Occupational Therapist as required. If necessary, outpatient, dentist and optician appointments can be made and additional services such as manicures and complementary therapies arranged.
