Pentlow Nursing Home
Pentlow Nursing Home is a multi-award-winning home based in two delightful period houses. Both have been carefully converted to provide comfortable and homely nursing care in Eastbourne’s lovely Old Town.
The two houses, Pentlow and Summerdown, are set in charming, cottage-style gardens and offer a range of accommodation and care to suit your individual requirements. Both houses are self-contained, fully equipped, and have their own care and nursing teams, but being just next door to each other also offer the opportunity for our residents to join in group activities within a wider community.
Together, Pentlow and Summerdown have a total of 46 bedrooms, 31 which are en-suite, in two adjacent buildings.As converted former private residences, all our rooms are very individual, offering accommodation to suit your personal taste.
All the bedrooms have an en-suite toilet and washroom, and are equipped with wifi, flat screen TV and a nurse-call system.
Nursing and care staff are on hand 24/7, and our dedicated teams of chefs, activities, cleaning and housekeeping support them with cleaning and housekeeping.
Several of our ground-floor rooms have French doors opening directly into the pretty gardens, or on to the decking area, so if you have green fingers one of these rooms is ideal for you, offering you the chance to create your own plant pot garden.
If just sitting in the sun is more your style, you can take full advantage of outdoor seating areas, having your lunch outside in the summer months if you wish, or simply enjoying the tranquil gardens. They have been carefully designed to allow wheelchair access, with areas of sun and shade perfect for reading a book or sharing tea with friends.
Indoors, the elegance and charm of the period buildings has been maintained in the large and comfortable communal areas. Both buildings have their own cosy lounge and dining rooms. All the bedrooms have an en-suite toilet and washroom, and are equipped with wifi, flat screen TV and a nurse-call system.
Nursing and care staff are on hand 24/7, and our dedicated teams of chefs, activities, cleaning and housekeeping support them. Rooms vary in size and shape depending on where they are in the houses, and each has its own character, ready for you or your family to personalise it with your own possessions, mementoes and perhaps some favourite items of furniture.
Pentlow Nursing Home provides electric profiling beds, with air mattresses, for your comfort and ease of getting in and out, and for those who need it we have lifting aids and equipment. Air mattresses are wonderful if you can’t get out of bed very much, as they help to keep you more comfortable, and to stop problems like pressure sores developing.
