The S.T.A.R. Foundation
The S.T.A.R. Foundation is owned and run by Rotherham Healthcare Limited, a family run business established for over 20 years – we strive to provide quality care in a safe and homely environment and the happiness and wellbeing of our residents is at the heart of everything we do.
Located at Astrum House in the Moorgate area of Rotherham, South Yorkshire, The S.T.A.R. Foundation has been specifically designed to accommodate up to 60 individuals aged 18 and upwards with varying degrees of physical disabilities, learning difficulties and mental health problems whether long term, short term or respite care is required.
Onsite we have a Hydrotherapy Pool, a Physio Room and a Sensory Room, a number of communal rooms offering various hobbies and activities on a daily basis. Entertainment and relaxation could involve a visit to the home cinema, hairdresser, snack bar, or even to help with the gardening on the very picturesque roof garden. Our Activities Coordinator ensures that there is always plenty to do.
Standing on a hillside with panoramic views and well away from traffic noise, our purpose built accommodation is modern, spacious and well equipped whilst maintaining a warm and friendly atmosphere that sets us apart from the crowd.
Every need has been thought of at The S.T.A.R. Foundation from fully equipped kitchen units shared by a maximum of four residents for those that would like to make their own meals now and again, to the use of an overnight room for friends and relatives wishing to pay their loved ones a visit whilst they are staying with us.
Our qualified nurses and enablers ensure that our residents needs are met 24 hours a day. We train our staff to a minimum of NVQ Level II and we are committed to the continuing education of our workforce so that the care we provide is of the highest standard.
Our Registered Manager, Janet Sheppard, is a qualified nurse (RGN) with extensive experience of supporting those with complex needs. Sarah works hard to ensure that our Home maintains the high standards we have achieved, whilst constantly reviewing the facilities provided to ensure the needs of our residents are met to an exceptionally high standard. Sarah is passionate, determined and very knowledgeable ensuring that each and every one of our residents has a plan of care that is tailored to suit their needs.
