Wykenhurst Care

Wykenhurst Care is a privately owned care home in one of Hereford’s oldest residential areas.  Established in 1985 by two sisters Judith Jones and Lyn Rushgrove and comprises of three adjoining Victorian properties.

All efforts have been made to retain the original Victorian features and the result is a spacious and homely accommodation for our residents.
Wykenhurst Care is registered with the CQC to accommodate 25 people enabling us to provide a home from home while delivering the support and expert care to each individual.  What makes us unique is that we provide care and support not only for the elderly but for young adults too and we specialise in mental health needs.
A team of dedicated and qualified staff provide first class care and support to residents. Each resident has a tailor made plan of care to ensure all their needs are met in order for them to continue leading a happy and healthy life.
Wykenhurst Care employ  an in-house activities coordinator who tailors activities to the residents wishes anything from pub outings, walks, gentle exercise sessions, reminiscence therapy right through to pottery painting arts and crafts and games on the x-box!
We offer well appointed bedrooms and living accommodation within the home, with a choice of daily home cooked meals.  There are many local amenities including a corner shop, Tesco Express, a major supermarket, a pub, a hair salon, a post box and church all within a very short walking distance.  There is also a bus stop at the end of the road with a direct bus service into the city centre every 20 minutes.
Wykenhurst Care is made up of three Victorian properties all linked up making the home very accessible for people with mobility issues. We also have a passenger lift which accesses upper floors.
All bedrooms at Wykenhurst Care are individually styled with many retaining their original Victorian features. We offer shared, single and single en-suite bedrooms across our three properties.
